Saturday June 25 at the big lawn outside of the Autry Museum, there will be a showing of the cult classic, Dazed and Confused. It’s a perfect stage-setter for the Summer– the movie is perhaps the best last day of school movie, ever.
Although the event is professionally put together, it may be a bit reminiscent of the big beer bust that is the culmination of the movie. (That shouldn’t spoil too much)
There’s not much not to love about this event, especially because parking is free- indeed a rarity for any event in the neighborhood. Dogs are also welcome, with free biscuits given to your friends at the door, according to the event’s website. Much like Odd Nights at the Autry, the lawn is wide open and the Autry parking lot will be brimming with food trucks. Patrons are encouraged to bring their pillows and blankets.
All parking will be at the L.A. Zoo’s parking lot. Doors open at 5:30, and live music starts at 7 with an 8:30 start time for the movie. A large projector screen will be set up out on the lawn. There will also be a bar serving beer, wine and a Dazed and Confused-themed cocktail.
The event is part of Eat-See-Hear put together by Showtime Networks and there are other movie events scheduled throughout the Summer.
Also on tap for Eat-See-Hear are showings on June 4 of Ferris Beuhler’s Day Off and June 11, both at the North Hollywood Recreation Center. The next movie event at the Autry after Dazed and Confused will be Coming to America on July 2nd. The events rotate among Griffith Park, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Pasadena and North Hollywood.
This particular event’s exact list of food trucks isn’t known, but here’s a big list of food trucks that have been on hand for Eat-See-Hear events in the past.
