The underground “Natural Born Artists” from the RAW group will host their first-ever short-film festival at the Bootleg Theater in Echo Park this Sunday. A note for L.A. indie-film fans: a positive turnout could very well make the Raw Film Festival a regular event.
RAW is an L.A.-based group made up of artists in film, music, fashion, photography, and makeup disciplines with chapters reaching around the world. “Directors” of various regions bring together the area’s up-and-coming talent for local showcase events.
Over 40 “pop-ups” by indie filmmakers will be shown in four different sections on Sunday for “RAWFF”. According to TwitchFilm.com, the organizers are making an effort to keep it L.A.-based: 35 of the 40 featured filmmakers Sunday are from the area.
