It’s been a long time of quarantine, hasn’t it? It’s hard not to feel cooped up after six months of this. Some people are taking advantage of the available cheap air travel to deal with this. Others are opting to spend the rest of the quarantine somewhere else, preferably with their family. If you are traveling during COVID, it’s important that you continue to be responsible. Here are our tips.
Recommendations When Traveling During COVID
First of all, it’s important to know that experts are still advising against air travel given the risk of exposure in places such as airports and airplanes. In fact, several countries still have strong travel restrictions in place. If traveling during COVID is a necessity, then you should follow the following recommendations from the CDC:
- Wear a mask to cover your nose and your mouth at all times.
- Avoid coming into close contact with other people by staying at least six feet apart from anyone who’s not a part of your household.
- Wash your hands as often as possible.
- Use hand sanitizer (with at least 60% alcohol) when not.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
Always Stay Safe
Travelling can often be a necessity, so it’s not like you can just avoid it permanently. However, you can do your best to exercise caution. Because of the way air circulated and filtered in airplanes, most viruses and germs don’t spread that easily in them. However, distancing from one another inside a plane can be hard. It’s important to always act with caution, so do your best to keep your distance from other people. Once you get to your destination, quarantine if possible, particularly if you are seeing high-risk people such as your older relatives. We are all still doing our best to stay safe and isolated from other people to protect them. Doing so while traveling doesn’t have to be hard.
