El Pollo Loco closed in December after a kitchen fire and hasn’t not reopened. The Eastsider was told that Sweetgreen would be the new tenant. Sweetgreen was founded in 2017 to be a destination for simple, seasonal, and healthy food. Their food ethos includes sustainability, animal welfare, scratch cooking, transparency, and local sourcing. Some of their menu items are the Spring Chicken seasonal bowl and the Shroomami Warm Bowl.
The Shroomami bowl is organic wild rice, shredded kale, raw beets, cucumbers, basil, spicy sunflower seeds, warm portobello mix, roasted sesame tofu, and miso sesame ginger dressing. The Spring Chicken is roasted chicken, roasted zucchini + yellow squash, shredded carrots, basil, parmesan crisps, organic mesclun, shredded kale, and pesto vinaigrette. Along with their signature bowls, you can make your own salad using their countless ingredients. Sweetgreen will be a unique and great addition to Silver Lake’s numerous salad spots.
